The Regional Costumes Unit was created in 1974 with the purpose of showcasing the traditional attire of Guatemala. Throughout its 45-year history, its main function has been to promote Guatemalan culture through presentations of regional costumes.

INGUAT Concert Marimba
The marimba ensemble of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT) was established in March 1974. It is a professional group dedicated to promoting and showcasing the musical traditions of the Guatemalan marimba in all its artistic expressions — concert, folkloric, and popular — both nationally and internationally. The marimba, Guatemala’s national instrument and patriotic symbol, is presented as a key part of the country’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.

El Ballet Folklórico del Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo INGUAT, fue creado en 1990 con el propósito de promover el turismo receptivo, presenta diversas obras coreográficas basadas en los valores culturales guatemaltecos, tales como tradiciones, leyendas y expresiones de las distintas etnias del país, riqueza histórica y natural de las diferentes regiones, música y danzas folklóricas.

INGUAT Folkloric Ballet
The Folkloric Ballet of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT) was created in 1990 with the purpose of promoting inbound tourism. It presents a wide variety of choreographic works based on Guatemala’s cultural values, including traditions, legends, and expressions of the country’s diverse ethnic groups, as well as the historical and natural richness of its regions, music, and folkloric dances.
