The INGUAT Tourist Assistance Department, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior through the Tourism Security Division (DISETUR), provides security escorts depending on the available logistical and human resources at the time of the request or the availability of police forces in the country.

The 1500 Call Center coordinates with the Tourist Assistance Department delegates and DISETUR to ensure security for all companies or individuals engaged in tourism activities across various destinations, helping visitors feel safe during their stay.

Requirements for Requesting Security Escorts

1. Complete the request form at least 72 business hours in advance and submit it to 1500custodias@inguat.gob.gt

A designated police unit with two officers provides security throughout the group’s entire itinerary. (The requesting party must cover fuel, meals, and lodging expenses for the assigned officers.)

Note: Fuel consumption is calculated at 50 kilometers per gallon. Meals and lodging must be covered at the same restaurant and hotel used by the group or an adjacent establishment.
